Course Content       

Each module addresses specific learning areas, describing the barriers that some pupils face and what AT resources can support them.
This encourages learners to explore the full range of tools available and the differences between them.
The modules include:

Welcome

Explore the fundamentals of Assistive Technology, including the potential transformative benefits to pupils.  Understand disability impacts vs diagnosis and how to use the course.

Reading, Comprehension & Spelling

This module offers a focused exploration of technologies that support reading, comprehension & spelling. Understand the barriers to learning by exploring specific resources and applications, and learn how to effectively integrate them into the learning environment.

Writing, Typing & Handwriting

This module introduces leading software and hardware that facilitates a pupils ability to write and type, so that they can effectively express themselves and demonstrate their knowledge.

Number Recognition & Mathematical Reasoning

Understand how to support your pupils in maths, so they can gain a solid understanding in numeracy and how to apply reasoning within activities.

Focus, Concentration & Time Management

Explore the innovative range of tools that enable pupils to maintain focus and participate in learning activities more effectively. Support their ability to understand and manage their time.

Language Acquisition & Expression

This module explains the barriers to pupils being able to develop their acquisition of language and expression. The solutions provide examples of how a pupil can be supported in this essential skill. 

Understanding Non-Verbal Communication

Explore types of non-verbal communication and a range of resources to support the pupils within your learning environment.

Sensory Processing & Emotional Regulation

Discover a range of solutions to enable pupils who struggle with their emotional regulation. Often sensory processing is indicative of an individual's ability to manage appropriately within school. 

Motor, Visual & Auditory Accessibility

Explore how to introduce simple, practical tools to support physical and sensory accessibility.
